Incredible food, unbelievably good food. I'm talking ridiculous. I don't even know how you could bother reading this review because you're wasting time. Quick! Stop reading and just GO to this place for dinner tonight. I am addicted. We had the African Banquet amongst 4 friends. It was more than enough food. We even had some left over! For dessert we had Lemon Myrtle cheese cake and Death By Chocolate brownie with mousse.

When we ventured out to Zulus for dinner we didn't know quite what to except. We started off with deep fried corn bread and coconut prawns, this truly set the bench mark! For mains my husband ordered "Alien Autopsy" complete with scalpel and crispy chips for the aliens bones, my husband LOVED the flavours and cleverness of the dish. I myself ordered chicken and rocket curry with a number 2 hotness, butter and pepper mash and the most refreshing watermelon, feta and coriander salad. We loved Zulu's for having the courage to bring Coffs Harbour something completely out there, with a feast for all the sensors. We will be back!!

Zulu's is an awesome dining experience, particularly for chilli lovers. We consider the chef Joel an evil genius! The menu is pretty crazy and we often order from the 'create your own African platter'. We are never disappointed. The quality of food is great and the chilli, depending on your choice, can be seriously lethal. Joel will visit each diner to check on how you're enjoying your meal and if necessary offer you a glass of milk. What a terrific conceptual restaurant to have in Coffs Harbour. The decor is quite quirky, the only change I would suggest is to have more attractive lighting as those energy bulbs kill the ambience. The restaurant is also set in a Best Western motel, which kind of adds to its strangeness. We love it!

What can I say we live thirty minute drive away from here and we came in earlier this week for dinner, the staff are wonderful above and beyond what you would expect to get, then the food...... ITS AMAZING! So much so this is our third trip to have dinner here this week alone! You feel so welcome and comfortable and the atmosphere is incredible... A+++++++++++++++++++ THE BEST! Thankyou

This restaurant makes me never want to move away from this town. You are greeted by the friendliest staff and if you choose to go to the bar there are a multitude of fun and excited cocktails to sample. Then the food, oh the food. Who knew African cuisine was so tasty and full of flavour?! You get to custom make your dish (picking protein, sauce and 2 sides) and when you get the food you eat all of it until you feel like you might burst. If you don't have african there is the chefs crazy Veneficus menu which provides you with food that is delicious but not how your mind would picture it. Then there is dessert, toffee with legs, dessert spring rolls, rainbow cakes thats taste like eating a whole packet of skittles, cheesecake like you've never seen it before and more. If you haven't had the utter delight of experiencing the food and the friendly staff you should rectify this immdeiately.

Very friendly staff with great knowledge of menu and drinks. We were a large group and they were very patient with us and seemed to enjoy themselves as they helped us. Would definitely recommend Zulu's to anyone looking for a meal that is different to anything else available in town. Different flavours well combined, a great night.

OMG - what can i say. The food was to die for. I have been handing out their cards ever since i ate at Zulu's. Thank you to the staff as well who really made the experience amazing. I said that night that i was in heaven and i will be driving the 5 hours to experience heaven again.

We stumbled into the motel attached to the restaurant and had one look at the menu in the in room guide and became hooked by the exotic descriptions printed there in. There is no way we could have anticipated the absolute culinary delight when the words were transformed into tantalising taste sensations presented by Joel. My wife was bubbling with praise and compliments for the sumptuous fare presented to us, and she is a Chef and "very" fussy about food, to the point I shudder to take her out for far of her less than complimentary observations of the food, no danger of that here though. WE live too far away to make a regular visit, but the allure of the menu and magnificently friendly and efficient staff are continually calling us back and it will not be long before the car leads us on the 2 day voyage to our next adventure in Joel's world. If you ahve not experienced it yet, put in on the top 10 list of things you MUST do.

Outstanding experience, food, drink and service. My husband and I were passing through Coffs Harbour and dined there in October 2011. I would drive 5 hours from Sydney just to dine there again!

Sometimes in life, you have to go out of your way to do something different in order to encounter something a little bit extraordinary. This is how I feel about Zulu's. When we first walked in we were greeted by the friendliest waitstaff and a rather exotic, animal print decor. The dinner menu is African-inspired with plenty of flavours, spices, and selections that entice the senses - the cuisine was one I had never tried before and can't believe the fresh, citrus flavour that emerged from the African feast. Just when you think that you can't possibly eat anything else, the allure of the dessert menu encourages you to step out of your comfort zone and try crickets in toffee, acidic flavours transformed by a berry, sherbet foam that takes you back to childhood or the strangest apple pie I've ever seen. I can't recommend the exceptional food, the delightful staff, and slightly exotic experience enough!

I've eaten here several times in the last year. The food tastes so fresh, unique and AMAZINGLY/SINFULLY DELICIOUS.
I've never had anything like the chef's African style creations before. WOW. I never knew African food was so damn tasty.
I admit I've formed an addiction to the Chicken Muwumba, but I've also sampled from the other menu's as well. And I was happy I did. Especially the deserts.
I never knew a deep fried sticky date spring roll would would be like heaven on a plate...but what can I say.
The atmosphere is intimate and personal. Very family friendly as well.
I can't wait to go back again. I'm hooked.
P.s
The staff are just so warm and amazingly friendly. I don't know where they find all their energy but I've never been in the restaurant and not seen the staff smiling. I think it might be the food....
Well done to all involved.
BEST VALUE AND FOOD IN COFFS HARBOUR BY FAR!!!
